Pool for a summer residence (65 photos): how to do it yourself

Rest in the country becomes not so pleasant and comfortable if there is no lake, pond or river nearby. Correct this state of affairs will help your own pool, which will present many pleasant and memorable moments. You can purchase and install an inflatable or frame pool, or create one yourself. The pros and cons of various types of designs are presented in our article, you can choose the option in accordance with your resources and capabilities, and we will help you understand all the nuances.

The inflatable pool for giving

The most affordable and easy to maintain pool for a summer residence. Most inflatable pools consist of several layers of PVC film. They are easy to assemble, install and clean, and this is also the most budgetary option - that is why most summer residents prefer it. For installation, it is enough to pump the upper ring of the pool, it is it that gives stability to the whole structure. When filling the container, it rises according to the water level.

Large inflatable pools are equipped with a technical hole for supplying and filtering water. In smaller analogues, such a hole is absent, water is collected from above, and it must be poured out to filter. So that your pool is not polluted too quickly, get a tent that will cover the water surface from the ingress of leaves, insects and dust.

There are a number of advantages of inflatable models:

- Compactness - in disassembled form, the capacity takes up extremely little space, this allows you to store it in a country house and transport cars in the trunk. When you do not need it, for example, due to the onset of frost, you can collect it and place it in the pantry or in the attic.

- Installation - is a very simple and quick process. It will take you only 10-20 minutes. The entire installation consists of preparing the site - cleaning from sharp objects and debris, layout and pumping the pool.

- Availability is one of the cheapest options on the market.

- Water heating - thanks to the materials used, the water in such pools warms up very quickly, and soon after installation you can use it.

Of course, there are disadvantages of such structures. The main one is a small area for filling with water. In such a pool, you can sit or dabble, but you can’t swim in it.

Manufacturers offer large models, but they are quite expensive, and their strength raises many questions. The water in them stagnates, it is difficult and inconvenient to clean and filter it. Also, the disadvantages include the need for periodic pumping of the inflatable chamber. Therefore, if you need a larger pool, pay attention to the frame option.

Inflatable pool for children

Children's inflatable pool is a great purchase for your child's leisure and development. You can find designs with a variety of shapes, equipment and configurations:

- With an awning. The water in such a pool warms up remarkably from the scorching summer sun, and setting a tent, you protect the child from ultraviolet radiation and sunstroke.

- The pool-arena is equipped with a crossbar, on which you can hang various toys, so that the child would be interested in spending time in it.

- Game centers. Designed for simultaneous use by several children, all kinds of slides, tunnels, fountains and toys are used in such pools.

Inflatable children's pools equipped with a slide are very popular. They can be part of an inflatable structure or installed separately. There are also large inflatable slides for stationary pools. They have various sizes and shapes, some options are quite capable of supporting the weight of adults. If you correctly install such a slide, it will be safe and comfortable to use. In case of damage, you will have enough time to leave the slide, because air comes out of small holes for quite some time.

When starting to choose a children's pool, it is important to correctly determine the right size. This can be a portable model, which is easy to take with you on vacation, or large models in which the child will feel comfortable and free. Large modifications have a significant advantage - in them the child can fully immerse himself in water, which will positively affect learning to swim. In order not to make a mistake with the solution, follow these tips:

Depth - the choice of this parameter completely depends on the age of the child. Children up to one and a half years old can go up to 20 cm deep, up to 3 years old up to 50 cm, children up to 6 years old will feel comfortable in a pool up to 75 cm deep.

Almost all models of inflatable pools for children are not equipped with a drain for water and its filtration. Therefore, you will often have to change the water, all this is done manually: first drain the water, wash the bottom and refill the water.

Soft bottom. If you plan to take the pool with you to nature, stop at the model with an inflatable cover for the bottom, since it is not always possible to find a soft and even area.

Beads - the wider they are, the safer and more convenient your artificial pond will be.

Frame pool for a summer residence

This type of prefabricated pools has a more rigid structure, which is able to withstand heavy loads than inflatable counterparts. This is achieved by the precast frame. Based on the implementation of the frame and the possibility of using frame pools in different seasons, they are divided into the following groups:

Seasonal pools. The frame is made of collapsible pipes and connecting elements, which contributes to a quick and convenient installation. The pool itself is made of multilayer polyvinyl chloride, reinforced with a special mesh for structural strength. The use of the frame makes the structure very durable, it retains its shape perfectly, in comparison with the same inflatable pool. These tanks are collected and installed at the beginning of the swimming season. Upon the onset of cold weather, it must be disassembled for storage. Also, rather large volumes, up to 7 tons of water, can be distinguished from the advantages, while the variety of forms is amazing. Such a pool will last about 5 years.

All-season pools. They serve on the site all year round, because they are not afraid of cold. For this, the sides of the pools are reinforced with metal nets, which gives them a large margin of safety. Having reinforced walls and transverse beams, such structures can withstand up to 20 tons of water. Having bought such a pool, you will be happy for 15 years.

Stationary pools. They consist of many compartments, which are made of steel, wood or plastic. The design is very durable, and its installation is carried out once for the entire period of service. They can reach quite impressive sizes (up to 8 m in diameter), and the service life reaches 30 years. Of the minuses, a fairly significant price can be designated, which, taking into account all the costs, is comparable to the cost of a full-fledged concrete pool.

Frame pools are much stronger, more comfortable and more durable than inflatable structures. The reinforced frame allows you to slightly deepen the pool into the ground, which will make it even more thorough. They can be equipped with powerful pumps and filter stations, this will save you from a constant change of water, which, given the large volumes, will positively affect the operation process.

DIY concrete pool

It is generally accepted in our society that a stationary pool is a sign of the high status of the owner of the site, but if you study the issue a little more, it turns out that building a concrete or composite pool with your own hands is quite simple, and its cost will be comparable to some prefabricated purchase options.

The first step in the construction of the pool is its layout and layout of the site. If you are not confident in your engineering skills, then choose the simplest form - a rectangle or a circle. This will not only significantly reduce costs, but also simplify all your work. The pool plan should also include information on laying communications, electrical wiring, installing filters and drainage.

When all the stages of planning and preparation are behind, proceed to the construction:

Preparation of the pit. Dig a pit according to the layout of your pool, but with a margin of about 50 cm. The walls must be made with a slope to prevent soil from shedding.

Level the bottom of the pit, and then ram it. Create a drainage - a layer of sand mixed with crushed stone, about 30 cm thick. It should be well saturated with water for maximum compaction and put out waterproofing. The cheapest option is to line the roofing material treated with bitumen mastic in several layers.

The bottom is reinforced with reinforcing cage, and then concrete is poured. After it hardens, formwork is installed for the walls of the pool.

Formwork installation - Use a painted or prolifted board for this, this will allow you to create curved lines of the walls of your pool. When using plywood, your costs will increase, but this will save you from excessive sanding of the walls. In order for the formwork to withstand the heavy weight of concrete, it must be reinforced with stiffeners made of wooden beams.

Wall Fill - Before proceeding to fill the walls, the bottom is carefully watered with water so that the solution adheres well. When the first layer of concrete is poured, a reinforced mesh is installed and the concrete layers are poured again.

Waterproofing and grinding - when the concrete has completely hardened, dismantle the formwork and start sanding the walls. This can be done with a grinder or manually. Perform this operation until the walls are completely aligned. Then you need to waterproof the seams.

Finish - for decorative arrangement, you can use a mosaic, tile or tile. Recently, the use of PVC film has been gaining popularity, this is due to its practicality in terms of waterproofing, as well as a pleasant bluish color. Sometimes, to decorate the bottom, it is trimmed with bulk floors.

When all the stages are behind, and the finishing work has been done, you can proceed to the installation of pumping and filtering equipment. Optionally, you can install lights, fountains or waterfalls, as well as equip the surrounding area.
